Well.... I basically have a normal calm family. I don't really have any traditions or whatever. I go to Ohio twice a year... go fishing and spend time with my loving and caring mother and my 2 older sisters, 2 year old brother, my two nieces, my grandparents, great grandmother, uncles and aunts... ha basically I have a big separated family. My mom's side is in Ohio and my dad's side is in South Carolina. But I kind of like it that way =D less chaos in South Carolina. Umm.. that's all I can actually think of. We eat the same foods some things we say different like the word "the" and "you guys" and crap but I mean it's not like I lived in tim buck two. lol (+
Its not really all about my family in my culture. My family tends to argue a lot, so it ends up just relationships that stick out. [as in mom dad, bf and gf] So, in my culture, whats important is internet, anime [anything: manga, conventions, and etc.], videogames, love, and relationships. In my bf's house, we eat a lot of home cooked meals, varying from tacos to sushi. In my actual family, we generally go out to eat on a Sunday. Thats just about our only tradition. But yeah... thats about it with me ^w^
I guess that an important part of my culture is that my grandparents play a large role in our family. They are the heads of our family and everyone respects them. I think that it is very different than other families where the grandparents are sometimes ignored.
An important part of my culture is family. whether i like it or not i spend time with my family sunday. We spend the whole day like outside and not watching tv and stuff like that. then we usually eat a big dinner as a family and just sit and talk about whats coming up in the next week.
in my family. i guess we do what most families do. On the holidays i go to three different parts of my family. for example, i go see my mom's side of the family on christmas eve. Then i go see my dad's side christmas morning for lunch. my sisters and i are also very close with my aunt and uncle since they could not have children. my uncle is puerto rican, so i get to experience a different culture as well :) its pretty sweet actually. my aunt and uncle are like my second parents. we usually visit them for dinner on christmas. i have a huge family including relatives by blood, marriage, and of course friendship.
My family doesn't have any traditions. I mean we used to get my grandma to sleep over on christmas eve, but shes gone... so that doesn't happen anymore. Also me, my brother and step-dad go to his mothers in florida every thanksgiving. But thats all.
i remembered some other traditions, we go to tennesee ever year normally over spring break or something. it's the best thing of the whole year for us. sometimes the whole family will sit down and "try" to have a game night we always go out to eat on a birthday and I always bake the cake or cupcakes, its never bought [cause i gots mad cooking skills XD] the guys have a man night every week [my brother's band, my brother, and dad(and assorted random friends) get together] and the girls have a girl's night out every week [the girls go out and do random girly things together] thats all i think
